What the service does

How Autoposter Connect uses the TikTok API

Every account belongs to the user, never to us. The official TikTok APIs are used only to publish that user's own videos to that user's own profile, and to read back how those videos performed.

Login Kit

The user signs in at TikTok directly. We never see, receive or store a TikTok password. The resulting access token is stored encrypted and is deleted the moment the user disconnects the account, either in our app or in the TikTok app itself.

Content Posting API

Videos are transferred with FILE_UPLOAD; we do not pull content from a URL. Before the first publication the user chooses, in our interface:

• who may see the videos, from the privacy levels the account actually allows;
• whether comments, Duet and Stitch are permitted, offered only where the account permits them;
• whether the content promotes the user's own brand, or is a paid partnership with another brand.

These choices are shown again on the screen where the user confirms, together with TikTok's Music Usage Confirmation and, for branded content, TikTok's Branded Content Policy. Branded content cannot be set to "Only me", in line with TikTok's rules.

Creator info

Before each publication the service reads the creator's current settings from TikTok and offers only the options that this account allows at that moment. Options the account has switched off are not offered, and the maximum video duration reported by TikTok is respected.

Metrics

After publication the service reads views, likes, comments and shares for the videos it posted, so the user can see which topics work. No data about other TikTok users is collected, stored or analysed.

Who it is for

Independent professionals and owner-run businesses: advisers, consultants, coaches, estate agents, craft businesses, law firms and agencies. The service is offered business to business. It is not aimed at consumers and not at anyone under 18.
